I cannot send out Email when using Norton AntiVirus.

Issue

Using Norton AntiVirus and your anti-virus service I cannot send out Emails to your server. What is wrong?

Solution

This is a common issue with Symantec's Norton AntiVirus and we get many support tickets regarding this problem. If you are using our anti-virus service we recommend disabling Email scanning for outgoing and incoming Email. For customers who are not using our anti-virus service we recommend you contacting Symantec regarding the issue.

When Email scanning is enabled for Norton AntiVirus, it sets up a local Email proxy to check Emails before sending them out. This causes problems with our POP before SMTP and SMTP-AUTH services to allow you to send Email through our network.
