A not widely used feature of the control panel is each mailbox can have it’s own disk space quota. Great to prevent one user from hogging your account’s disk space. The previous warning Email we felt was not clear enough. There was no mention future Email delivery would be affected once reaching your quota. We have revised the message and I’ve included a sample of what it looks like:

Subject: WARNING: Mailbox near quota limit!

*** DO NOT REPLY TO THIS EMAIL ***

This message was automatically generated that your mailbox is near
its disk space quota limit of 80%.

Once your mailbox goes past this limit, you will not be able to
receive any new Emails! Please remove or archive Emails offline to
ensure delivery of future Email. This is the only notification you
will receive.

You also have the option to contact your administrator, and increase
the quota for your Email account.

If you haven’t setup quotas for your mailboxes now might be a great to do so.

Effective immediately, our anti-spam service no longer uses greylisting to filter E-mails. We decided it’s no longer an effective method to prevent spam and now eliminates the initial delay for legitimate E-mail. No additional spam should get through because of this change as we have made other adjustments to improve our filtering. This change affects all shared hosting, and customers who pay for this service.

Effective immediately all shared hosting customers must use our local SMTP mail service (Exim) and cannot send E-mail directly to remote SMTP servers. You must send E-mail to either the ‘localhost’ SMTP port, or via sendmail command line. If you cannot make a change to your code, please contact support and request the IP address you are sending E-mail. Limit one per customer.

The reason for this change is we’ve had too many insecure customer scripts being used to send spam, which then causes the server’s IP getting blacklisted via a RBL. Forcing all Email to go through our SMTP service allows for better monitoring and thus preventing a shared server from getting blacklisted. This change does not affect any dedicated customer. We apologize for the inconvenience.
